What you get

What the check shows, and what it cannot

The check asks 20 buyer questions written for your category on three engines, ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and reads every answer. The report gives you a score from 0 to 100, the brands the engines named instead of you, the actual answers, and the sources each one cited. Those sources are the useful part: to be named in an answer you usually have to be in the pages the engine read first, and the report shows you which ones those are.

It has limits worth knowing before you act on it. It is one reading on one day, and answers move: in our own measurement ChatGPT returned a different source set on 93.3% of consecutive runs twenty minutes apart. It covers three engines, not Perplexity or Claude, and the engines barely agree with each other. On our 2026-08-11 run Gemini and ChatGPT shared only 4.5% of the domains they cited for the same questions. And it cannot show a trend, because a single check has nothing to compare against.

For that you need tracking. Our comparison of AI citation tracking tools covers ten of them, and how GetIntel measures AI visibility explains the method behind the numbers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

You enter your domain. GetIntel reads your site to work out what you sell, writes 20 buyer questions for your category, and asks each one on three engines: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. That is 60 checks, and it takes about two minutes. The report shows whether you were named, who was named instead, and which sources each answer cited.

Real. Every check asks the live engine and reads the answer it returns, with the sources it cited. The report is built from those answers, not from a model of what an engine might say.

The score runs from 0 to 100 and falls into one of five bands: 0 to 19 is nearly invisible, 20 to 39 is low, 40 to 59 is building, 60 to 84 is strong, and 85 and above is dominant. It is a reading of these 60 answers on one day, so treat it as a starting point rather than a verdict.

The checker is one snapshot: 20 questions, three engines, one day. Tracking asks the same questions on a schedule and keeps the history, which matters because citations change between runs. In our own measurement ChatGPT returned a different source set on 93.3% of consecutive runs twenty minutes apart.

No. The free check needs no signup and no card, and the report stays live for 30 days. The paid plans are separate: they add Perplexity daily, Claude weekly on Growth, a history of every run, and a ranked list of fixes. Their 7-day trial does ask for a card.
